Deputation – Volume 1 Issue 2

July 2016

Dear Pastor and praying friends:

May God’s blessings be upon you as much as they have been upon us. Since our last letter, we have had the privilege of seeing our daughter, Eden Skye Paulette, born on May the 18th at 7:53am, weighing 6lbs, 8oz, and 19 ½” long. Lorin and Eden are doing fine in their recovery.

June the 4th we travelled to Chattanooga, Tennessee, for Missionary Candidate School. It was such a blessing to get to see all of the missionary friends that we made when we were accepted to BIMI in December, as well as getting to meet, the 2nd year candidates, and those who were accepted while we were there. It was a wonderful week of learning from Missionaries that have been serving the Lord for 25 plus years, as they taught us from God’s Word and their own experiences, on how to better serve him and reach the field.

Since returning from Candidate School, we have had the opportunity to visit four different Churches here in California, and although we were not scheduled to present our work to these churches, God had unexpected blessings for us just from being in their services. God is Blessing and we are continually filling our future schedule with more meetings.

We moved out of our apartment on July 15th, it is quite the chore to consolidate all of your possessions from a two-bedroom apartment to what you think will fit into a camper trailer, which God has graciously provided for us for our new home through some very generous friends that are giving us their 27-footer.

I have informed my work that my final day will be the 19th of August. Currently, I am trying to sell my car in order to purchase a truck, belonging to the neighbour of one of my coworkers, that will work great for pulling our trailer.

Thank you so very much for your financial and prayer support as we continue to make our way to Mozambique.

In Christ’s Service, The Tayler Norris Family your missionaries to Mozambique.

Prayer Requests:

  • Special: My paternal Grandmother Jean Hamlyn has breast Cancer for the 2nd time, she is in quite a bit of pain.
  • Safety as we, Lord willing begin travelling full-time on the 20th of August
  • That we will be able to continue to schedule meetings and fill our calendar.
  • That we will raise the support needed to go to the field.
  • That God would allow our car to sell quickly and for the price, we are asking.
  • For the People of Mozambique as the country is in the midst of a severe drought, as well as political strife and turmoil between the two main political parties in the country. Pray that the Peace Accord that has begun would end in a resolution that is best and safest for the Country as a whole.
  • That God would work even now in that hearts and lives of the people to prepare them for the Gospel.
  • For our learning capabilities as we begin to study Portuguese and as we continue a course in Biblical Studies to complete our required classes.
  • For our Health that we would remain well so that there will not be any set backs to Deputation.
  • Our Spiritual lives that we will remain close to God and grow each and every day closer to him, that we will not stray from His will or be caught up in the snares of the Devil.
  • For travelling mercies,
