Deputation – Volume 1 Issue 3

October 2016

Dear Pastor and praying friends:

I pray this letter finds you all well and blessed in the service of our Lord.

Since our last correspondence, I quit my job of almost three years, and for the first two weeks, made many phone calls to set up meetings to present our ministry to Churches in California.  We were able to set up meetings for all the Sundays in November as well as a special meeting on Thanksgiving Day.

We are continuously trying to fill December and most of January with meetings in California.

Lord willing, we will find ourselves up in the north-west in February and then the north and south-west in March and April.

We headed out on the road for full-time deputation on September 2, since then we have travelled 4,907 miles through 15 states and the District of Columbia in 18 days.

As I write this letter, we are in Delaware, we had a wonderful time with Pleasantville Baptist Church during mission’s conference, as well as Maranatha Baptist in Philadelphia this past Sunday.  We will be leaving Saturday, to begin a schedule which includes one more Sunday meeting and two more mission’s conferences in three states over a period of three weeks.

We are still praying that God will provide for a truck to pull the trailer he has so generously provided.  We have thus far been unable to sell our car partly because it is our only means of transportation until we acquire a truck.  It has been quite the experience doing as much travel as we have in a Crown Victoria, let me tell you, it is packed and with no extra space.  Our 2-year-old son Deacon, who just had his birthday on the 28th of September, often gets frustrated with our pillows as he thinks they are invading his foot space.

Nevertheless, God has blessed abundantly, we have been in eight different churches, three have asked us to come back for their mission’s conference and one Pastor wants to sit down for lunch as we make our way back to California and talk about having us back for a meeting.  God has used family, friends, and pastors to bless us in our travels and we are extremely grateful for each and every one of them.

Thank you, so very much, for your financial and prayer support as we continue to make our way to Mozambique.

In Christ’s Service, The Tayler Norris Family your missionaries to Mozambique

Prayer Requests:

  • Special: Healing for my paternal Grandmother Jean Hamlyn who has breast Cancer for the second time, she is in quite a bit of pain.
  • Safety as we, continue travelling
  • We will be able to schedule meetings and fill our calendar.
  • We will raise the support needed to go to the field.
  • God would provide for a truck to pull our trailer
  • For the People of Mozambique, the country is in the midst of a severe drought, as well as political strife and turmoil between the two main political parties.  Pray the Peace Accord would end in a resolution best and safest for the Country as a whole.
  • God would work even now in the hearts and lives of the people to prepare them for the Gospel.
  • For our ability to learn quickly as we begin to study Portuguese and as we continue a course in Biblical Studies to complete our required classes.
  • For our continued good health so that there will be no setbacks to Deputation.
  • Our Spiritual lives that we will remain close to God and grow each and every day closer to him, that we will not stray from His will or be caught up in the snares of the Devil.
