January 2020 Volume 5 Issue 1
Dear Pastor and praying friends:
I hope you all had a wonderful time of remembering Christ’s coming to earth as well as this new year of 2020, I pray that it gave a wonderful opportunity to be a witness to the lost around you.
We are back on the West Coast and are preparing to head back out for meetings here, as the Christmas/New Year Season is now over. We are very thankful to be able to have spent some time with our sending church and my family over the last few weeks. We are also thankful to see 70-degree weather during the winter instead of snow and freezing temps.
I praise the Lord for his safety and provision as we drove from the east coast to the west. We did not have any accidents, but we did have a few problems with the truck and made it safely to our destination. Please keep our vehicle in your prayers as we have it diagnosed to find out the reason it is not run properly.
God provided us an opportunity to be a witness and blessing to a homeless person during our travels, as we were driving one night, we stopped for a refuel and noticed a man bedding down for the night. I just checked the temperature and it was 30 degrees, the homeless person did not have much. God gave me a burden to get somethings for this homeless person and be a witness. After refueling, we went to Walmart and purchased somethings, drove back, and gave them the gift and the gospel. We conveyed God’s love in both of these ways, please pray for this person as they did not receive Christ.
We had a splendid time in the 7 churches we visited November through December. We made new friends and prayer partners, enjoyed their generosity, hospitality, support, and friendship. Each church greatly blessed us. Souls Harbor Baptist Church (Marietta, OH), Hopewell Baptist Church (Napa, CA), Open Bible Baptist Church (Aylmer, ON Canada), and Fellowship Baptist Church (Durham, NC) voted to partner with us in reaching Mozambique, We are currently at 90% committed support and praying that God will raise our support to 100% quickly. I praise God for the safety He has provided as we have traveled over 8,100 miles since our last prayer letter.
Family Updates by Lorin
Deacon (5) Growing like a weed along with a growing imagination. Most of his pants and shirts are too small and it is a good thing that is head is growing along with his knowledge cause soon that would be to small as well. He was able to get some new clothes for Christmas which he is loving. His personality is a lot like Tayler’s so it is funny to see it develop.
Eden (3) She is growing big too. Enjoying all the girlie things she can get her hands on. Her aunt gave her lip gloss and nail polish. She asks about every other day to use it. She likes to do and wants everything that her big brother has. She admires him a lot and they are certainly friendmies.
Enoch (11m) Enoch turns a year this month and it is amazing how fast time has gone. He is crawling like crazy and is already trying to stand up. He has gotten a few bumps and bruises from toppling over and hitting his head. In about a week will be his first time flying in an airplane. Pray for a good flight for him.
I Thessalonians 5:25 “Brethren, pray for us.”
Prayer Requests:
- We need one of these, either 6 churches to take us on for $100, 12 churches at $50, or 3 churches at $100 + 6 churches at $50 or some combination that will get us to 100%
- Safety as we continue traveling
- For the many Churches that have said they would like to take us on for support, pray God would enable them to have the finances to support us.
- For our current supporting churches as some are having financial struggles.
- We will raise the support needed to go to the field, and that we can be done with deputation quickly.
- For the People of Mozambique that God would work even now in the hearts and lives of the people to prepare them for the Gospel.
- For our ability to learn quickly as we begin to study Portuguese and as we continue a course in Biblical Studies to complete our required classes.
- For our continued good health, so that there will be no setbacks on the Deputation Trail.
- That our Spiritual lives will remain close to God, for us to grow each day closer to him, and not stray from His will or be caught up in the snares of the Devil.
- For our Truck that God would continue to allow it to run and get us from meeting to meeting safely.
