Language Training – Volume 6 Issue 2

March 2021 Volume 6 Issue 2

Dear Pastor and praying friends:

Time flies, it seems like it was just yesterday we started 2021, and now we are three months into the year, and it doesn’t seem like it will slow down anytime soon.

We can say we officially survived Frostmaggedon or Snowmaggedon as did those of you reading this that are in Texas. Praise the Lord we did not lose power or have any broken waterpipes as a result of the extreme cold. I know you folks up in the Northern United States and Canada are probably thinking it couldn’t be that bad. In Texas, -6°F with several inches of snow is cold.

It just so happens right in the middle of the cold snap, our newest son, Chandler Jairus was born six days late on the 12th of February, at 6:54am, weighing 7lbs 1oz and 20 inches long. Please pray that we are able to get all the proper paperwork together so we can start the visa process for language school in Brazil.

We have finished the two classes that were mentioned in our last letter and have started a Literacy Class, this class teaches us how to teach others to read and write in their language, as well as a Chronological Bible class for teaching the Bible to people that have never heard of the Bible and or God.

God has greatly provided for the staff and students here at BBTI.  This school year, a number of people donated to BBTI, 6 pigs, 2 deer, 20 Turkeys, and 1 cow. All the animals except the Turkeys were processed by the staff and students such as skinning, butchering, and turning some of it into ground meat. This has been a great experience in that I have learned how to properly process animals.

If your church is located within a four-hour radius of the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas area, and you would like for us to visit, please let us know. We are always looking for opportunities to serve by presenting missions and by witnessing to the lost. Praise the Lord, Immanuel Baptist Church decided to partner with us in reaching Mozambique with the Gospel. We currently have 96% of our support coming in, and we are praying that God will increase our support level to 100% quickly. There is much for which to praise the Lord, but specifically, I’d like to thank Him for the safety He has provided as we have traveled back and forth from school to church the past several months.

Family Updates by Lorin

Deacon (6y) Deacon has been a huge help with Chandler and loves to hold him. He is always there to lend a helping hand. He also has been helping with Enoch. He changed a diaper for the first time, Enoch cooperated very well. He was super excited about this new accomplishment.  He will randomly go into the bathroom and clean it. I love to see him help and when there is a need he pitches right in. Deacon loves to build things so Tayler (Daddy) on his time off and Deacon were able to build a tree house. He loves playing in it and is spending most of his play time there and trying to add more things to it.

Eden (4y) Eden is enjoying being a big sister to another little brother. She helps me by getting diapers, wipes, and a new outfit when needed. She loves to give him his pacifier and tries to calm him down when he starts crying. Eden has lost her first tooth!! I can’t believe how big my baby girl is getting. She is doing well in school and is starting to write words and her handwriting is getting better. She loves to write notes to her friends.

Enoch (2y) Enoch loves being a big brother. Most of the time he is sweet, kind, helpful, and loves to show off his baby. Enoch is now 2!! I can’t believe how fast it went. He had 2 birthday celebrations. One with our friends here at school and one with extended family. He had a blast celebrating his 2 years here on earth. He has been speaking a lot more and is starting to speak in sentences. It is a joy talking to him and figuring out what he needs with words.

Chandler (1m) Chandler made his appearance February 12th at 6:54am after about 8 hours of labor. He was 7lb.1oz He is doing well and is already up to 9 pounds. He is definitely loved by his brothers and sister. A great highlight of this year.

We will be updating our schedule of sending out update letters. We are going to split our current format into two so after this letter (March) you will receive Ministry updates at the same time, every 2 months and in between those you will receive our family updates. So, in May a Ministry Update, then June a Family Update and so on.

I Thessalonians 5:25 “Brethren, pray for us.”

Prayer Requests:

  • For Lorin and I as we continue our study at BBTI.
  • Lorin and the New Baby.
  • For the many Churches that have said they would like to take us on for support, pray God would enable them to have the finances to support us.
  • For our current supporting churches as some are having financial struggles.
  • For our raised support that it will continue, and that God will bless our supporting churches.
  • For the People of Mozambique that God would work even now in the hearts and lives of the people to prepare them for the Gospel.
  • For our ability to learn quickly when we begin to study Portuguese.
  • For our continued good health.
  • That our Spiritual lives will remain close to God, for us to grow each day closer to him, and not stray from His will or be caught up in the snares of the Devil.
