Deputation – Volume 4 Issue 1

                                                                                                                                              January 2019 Volume 4 Issue 1

Dear Pastor and praying friends:

We started off November, in Cold Wisconsin, taking part in a wonderful Missions Conference with the main speaker being Brother Dave Smith. We are very thankful we made it out of Wisconsin and back on the road to California before the snow started falling with temperatures below 20 degrees. Our next meeting was in California with the main speaker … Bro Dave Smith. It was a great blessing to be able to learn from him in both conferences.

I pray, as we all start this New Year, each of us has many opportunities to be a witness for Christ to the people we meet. I was given an opportunity to be a witness to two Korean missionaries that came to my parent’s front door one Sunday afternoon. They were from the World Missions Society Church of God. If you have not heard of this group, they are a cult, and I was able to clearly give them the Gospel many times throughout a 45 min period as we talked. I have been praying for them ever since, that they would see the truth of God from the Scriptures they heard.

From Thanksgiving through the New Year, we have been at our sending church. God has given us a great learning opportunity during our extended stay, we will be here through the end of February awaiting the birth and recovery of our newest child, Enoch, I have been asked to oversee the Youth Group.  The youth Pastor I grew up under resigned our church, after being on staff for the last 18 years, to go and work with Awake America Ministries in Clinton MD. Please pray that God would give me wisdom as I lead these young people and that I can learn things that will be valuable on the Field for future Ministry. It’s been a great blessing to go soulwinning with my Dad and Mother once again.

Big News: There are only 29 days until Baby Enoch is supposed to be born. Please pray that the birth will go well, with no complications, and both Lorin and Enoch will be healthy. Also, please pray for two meetings in Indianapolis next week that I will be attending alone, that during this time Enoch does not decide to make his appearance while I am gone.

We had a splendid time in the 3 churches we visited in November. We made new friends and prayer partners and enjoyed their generosity, giving, support, and friendship, they greatly blessed us. We thank the Lord that Souls Harbor Baptist Church (Milwaukee, WI), Central Valley Baptist Church (Manteca, CA), Bible Baptist Church (Ft. Pierce, FL), and Fairview Baptist Church (Athens, TN) began partnering with us in reaching Mozambique. We now have 63% in support commitments.  I praise God for His safety provided as we traveled over 3,000 miles since our last prayer letter.

Thank you so very much for your financial and prayer support as we continue to make our way to Mozambique.

In Christ’s Service, The Tayler Norris Family, your missionaries to Mozambique.

Deuteronomy 33:27

I Thessalonians 5:25 “Brethren, pray for us.”

Prayer Requests:

  • Safety as we, continue traveling
  • For the many Churches that have said that they would like to take us on for support, that God would enable them to have the finances to support us.
  • For our Trailer that the repairs would hold.
  • We will be able to schedule meetings and fill our calendar.
  • We will raise the support needed to go to the field, and that we can leave by Summer time of this year.
  • For the People of Mozambique that God would work even now in the hearts and lives of the people to prepare them for the Gospel.
  • For our ability to learn quickly as we begin to study Portuguese and as we continue a course in Biblical Studies to complete our required classes.
  • For our continued good health, so that there will be no setbacks on the Deputation Trail.
  • That our Spiritual lives will remain close to God and for us to grow each day closer to him, and that we would not stray from His will or be caught up in the snares of the Devil.
  • For Lorin and the new baby during this pregnancy.
  • For the Youth Group at Coast Hills Baptist Church as we lead and learn from these young people.
